$1 Presidential Coin

Do you know your American presidents? Brush up on history by using and collecting the new Presidential $1 Coins.
From 2007 to at least 2016, the United States Mint will issue a series of circulating $1 coins featuring former U.S. presidents. New $1 coins will be minted at a rate of four annually in the order in which the presidents served.
The new $1 coins are available at Southwest Oklahoma FCU and accepted where dollar coins are used, including businesses, transit authorities, and vending machines.
The Presidential $1 Coins feature an obverse design of a former U.S. president and carry a dramatic image of the Statue of Liberty on the reverse.
For the first time since the 1930s, coin inscriptions "E Pluribus Unum" and "In God We Trust," as well as the year, and the mint mark, are cut into the edge of the coin, not on the coin surface.
